Cool Stuff: Christopher Lee’s TMNT Action Figure Art

Posted 9 years ago by Art

Ace Duck and Slash

Christopher Lee, aka The Beast is Back, is an artist and designer who has been creating a series of prints based on the classic Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figure line, and they’re freaking awesome.

If you grew up on TMNT and you appreciate geek art like I do, you’re going to go broke looking through his online shop. He’s covered the majority of the awesome TMNT action figures, from Leatherhead to Muckman, Ace Duck, and even Scumbag. Now he just needs to do Monty Moose and Sergeant Bananas and I’ll be satisfied.

You can buy prints of all his work, including a lot of awesome, non-TMNT art, on his online shop. Also make sure you check him out on Deviant Art (and don’t miss his amazing toy room).

Mario Bros. and Link Get Super Cute

Posted 9 years ago by Art

DeviantART user and Tumblr-er Demiurgic has a lot of great art on her sites, but I can’t stop going back to her versions of the Mario Bros. and Link. They’re just too cute. I love the style of her work, I just wish she had some prints available.

Be sure to check out all her pieces, she’s got everything from a super cute surfing Pikachu to Ed and Shaun and the TMNT. Keep up the awesome work Becky!

Super Cute Superhero Art Prints on Etsy

Posted 9 years ago by Art

It’s too bad these are reserved for someone, but check out these super cute superhero art prints from Etsy artist Loopzart. Anything with Batman and The Hulk smiling is OK in my book.

She also has a Star Wars set (also reserved) that are equally worth checking out, as well as lots of individual prints.

Cool Stuff: Dave Rapoza’s Realistic TMNT Prints

Posted 9 years ago by Art

All of us here at THS obviously love us some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and my favorite thing about being a TMNT fan these days is seeing all the awesome interpretations of the characters from talented artists.

Dave Rapoza has been taking the hyper-realistic route as he’s been releasing his TMNT character portraits, and now he is selling prints from his blog. My favorites are Metalhead, Shredder, and Donatello, but they’re all amazing.

Go check them out, and in the meantime I’ll be digging through boxes looking to see if I still have a Metalhead action figure.

Scale Model Muppet Stages

Posted 9 years ago by Art

We’re big Muppets fans around THS. We also love action figures. So imagine our amazement when we saw Lance Cardinal’s custom-built Muppets’ playsets, scaled for the defunct Palisades action figures.

Cardinal made a mainstage, sized to fit the existing Palisades figures and playsets, as well as the backstage set, with the dressing rooms upstairs. He even made it so the two stages fit together to form one complete set.

This thing is a work of art. I’d try to describe it, but my words would not do the set justice. After you’re done checking out these sample items, head over to Cardinal’s website for the complete collection (Mainstage and Backstage).
