Iotacons by Andy Rash

iotacons

We love us some pixel art around here, and Andy Rash is getting a lot of buzz around the net with his Iotacons, and rightly so. Spoiler: they’re awesome. Andy has this to say about his low-rez creations:

Iotacons are extremely low resolution portraits. They are so different from my regular style that I thought I’d better give them a separate home.

He’s covered everything from the Senate, to Sacha Baron Cohen, and even the cast of MST3K. I can’t wait to see what else he churns out.

Star Wars Family Portraits

Over on Flickr, Steven Quinn has created an awesome set of Star Wars Family Portraits, and I suggest you check them out. Don’t miss the one with C3PO as the baby. It’s my favorite.

Boba Fett, Freelance Bounty Hunter

It can get boring being a freelancer for a living (trust me), but I feel a little better today knowing that everyone’s favorite Bounty Hunter, Boba Fett, was a freelancer too. And in case you missed it a few weeks ago, he even has some snazzy invoices.

I didn’t really get into the Minimalist Superheroes art that floated around the interwebs a few weeks ago, but throw Muppets into the mix and I’m sold. That’s exactly what Eric Slager did with his Minimalist Muppets, and he did a great job.

80s Toy Show at the Autumn Society [Art]

Posted 10 years ago by Art

The Autumn Society is an awesome collective of illustrators and fine artists who seem just as obsessed with nostalgia as I do. Well, this Friday they’re hosting the 80s Toy Show at Brave New World Comics, and I really wish I could be there.

There will be a lot of art there that I would be glad to put on my wall, including the Transformers by Dave Perillo. You may remember Dave’s Ghostbusters art I posted last year.

If you’re in the area and check it out, I’d be glad to post some photos from the event.
