Shirt of the Day: Pipe Dream

Posted 9 years ago by Shirts

604Republic is an awesome new geek-oriented shirt and poster shop online, and the first shirt that caught my eye was this trippy, Nintendo-themed shirt Pipe Dream. The world of Mario, with it’s pipes and mushrooms and everything, has always seemed like some weird plumber’s dream, and this design pretty much sums that up.

On a semi-related note, you know what else is a trip? Trying to sit through any of the animated Super Mario cartoons. I’ve been trying to watch them for nostalgia’s sake lately, and so far it’s been hard to get through a whole episode, but, that’s for another post.

Instagram Roundup: Fisher-Price Little People

Instagram Roundup

Welcome to the first of a new series here on Top Hat Sasquatch; Instagram Roundups. Most of us here on the ‘squatch are big Instagram fans. I’ve been using it literally since the first day it was available in the App Store, and I love it. It has a huge community (10 million users in less than a year), and an endless supply of photos tagged with anything you can imagine.

Today I was digging around in a box and found my old Fisher Price Little People Dog and snapped a photo and put it on Instagram. I tagged it, and suddenly had the urge to browse through other Little People photos, since those toys are such a big part of my nostalgia. Below is a roundup of some favorites (and the photo of my Dog).

We’ll be posting Instagram Roundups every so often, and if you have a suggestion for a topic let us know in the comments, and you can always tag your photos #TopHatSasquatch to get our attention.

Google Plus + Dungeons & Dragons: Post #2

Previously: Post #1 in our Google+ D&D Experiment

Our adventure has officially gotten underway!  The three main characters – Finora the Wolf Slayer (Fighter), Oraine (Ranger) and Gerrex (Cleric) – have met with the head of the largest shipping company in the port city of Enathal, a man by the name of Suzdal Razin.  Razin’s daughter, Kythera, was snatched off the streets along with some of her handmaidens, and thus far, all signs point to the Blood Diamond Clan as the most likely culprits.  Local legend holds that the Clan has a secret mine where they harvest precious gems.  To supply their workforce, rumors say they kidnap unsuspecting citizens to use as disposable slave labor.  Could Kythera have become the latest victim of the Clan’s nefarious operation?  Or is it all just an urban legend meant to add to the Clan’s already dark reputation?  The adventurers are heading to the Clan hall now to look for clues and to meet up with Tyrion the Monk to complete their party.

As someone who hasn’t DM’ed a game in over 20 years, it’s been so great to get back to storytelling.  And thus far, Google+ is holding up pretty well as a method for playing.

Missing Links

The Top Hat Sasquatch team reads a lot of blog posts every day, and some slip through the crack or just don’t warrant their own post. That’s where Missing Links comes in. Every few days we collect the best links we’ve come across and pass them on to you.
