Threadless Launches Minecraft Collection, Takes All My Money

Threadless Minecraft Collection

Threadless is killing it lately with their partnered collections. Last year they had The Muppets and Adventure Time, and lately they’ve had Sesame Street, Disney Villains, and now Minecraft. They really need to consult with me before launching any awesome new shirt lines so I can increase my Threadless budget first.

I don’t like every one the Minecraft designs, but a few are awesome and are definitely on my Christmas wishlist. I particularly like Bad Weather, but who doesn’t love pixel art on their t-shirts?

Now if only they would get a Gravity Falls or TMNT challenge going, I’d have even less money.

You can check out all the Threadless Minecraft shirts here.

LEGO News Roundup: New City Sets, Minifigures Series 9, and More

LEGO Helicopter Arrest

There has been a ton of LEGO awesomeness popping up in my RSS feeds lately, so I decided it was time for a LEGO News Roundup. LEGO is teasing a lot of great looking new products for next year, and even with TMNT LEGO sets coming out I’m most excited about the new City sets. The City line will always be my favorite, and some of the new sets look great.

I love the Helicopter Arrest set. It looks like an abandoned dock hideout with a place to stash a boat, boarded up windows, and a pretty snazzy orange truck. It almost reminds me of the Gator Landing set I use to have back in the day, just minus the gators.

Missing Links: TMNT, LEGO, Simpsons

missinglinks
The Top Hat Sasquatch team reads a lot of blog posts every day, and some slip through the crack or just don’t warrant their own post. That’s where Missing Links comes in. Every few days we collect the best links we’ve come across and pass them on to you.

The Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang: McDonalds Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys
Well folks, Turtle mania is in full swing now because there will be Happy Meal toys next month. You geeks with kids have it easy, how am I going to justify buying Happy Meals for a month straight?

2013 Lego Galaxy Squad pictures | The Brothers Brick
Wow, I hadn't even heard of this new line. I like the colors and the minifigs a lot. Space and LEGO is always a great combination.

Bandit Guns: Rubber Band Shotgun by Bob Coulston — Kickstarter
A very cool Kickstarter for an amazing rubber band shotgun. If I had anything other than pets to terrorize with this, I'd get one for sure.

Judd Apatow’s ‘The Simpsons’ Episode Script Being Produced, Twenty Years Later | /Film
I'm not the biggest Apatow fan, but you have to admit, this is cool.

Review – Tank Girl: Carioca

Posted 8 years ago by Comics

Back in the late-80s and early-90s, back when the rough-and-ready, bald-headed, cigarette-smoking, missle-breasted Aussie badass known as Tank Girl was in her heyday, about as “indie” as I got was the Eastman & Laird Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles .  For a certain group of people of a certain age, she was an icon.  I was not one of those people.  I wasn’t a rebellious sort who hated his father and fought against the establishment.  I didn’t have any odd holes in my face. I had a very conservative haircut. I had never even once raged against the machine.  Although my attitudes have changed somewhat over the years, I still never found my way to Tank Girl.  I just never made the effort.  Until I was offered the chance to review Tank Girl: Carioca from Titan Books, and then there she was, staring me down, daring me to take her on.

Boot The Foot: Awesome TMNT Illustrations

Boot The Foot

Tim pointed out this awesome new Tumblr to me the other day and I knew I had to post it. Artists Skummie and BeastPop teamed up in Voltron fashion to form SkummBeast, and they created the site Boot The Foot to show off their re-imaginings of TMNT characters, along with those of their friends. So far they’ve tackled Slash, Krang’s Android Body, and a Triceraton, and they’re all pretty great.

It’s pretty obvious I’m a bit obsessed with TMNT fan art, and I’m going to look forward to seeing more characters on Boot The Foot. Bring on Ace Duck!
