IDW Announces “Turtles in Time” Comic Mini-Series
I am way behind on the IDW TMNT series thanks to my iPad mini’s screen cracking (anyone know a good way to get that fixed?), but this Turtles in Time miniseries sounds amazing and I would actually buy physical copies to read it. Inspired by the SNES game? Sign me up.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Trailer
I still don’t know what to think about the X-Men cinematic universe. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 14 years since the original came out. That movie basically got the ball rolling on the entire modern Superhero film genre. I never would have thought that 14 years later, some of the cast would still be playing those characters.

Reddit User tysmurph Paints Stills from Disney Movies
I saw these get posted over the last few days and I really hope it gets turned into a series. First up was a still from The Sword and the Stone, and then the other day one from 101 Dalmatians was posted.

Minecraft developer Mojang’s profits more than doubled in 2013
Minecraft is one of the most interesting gaming phenomenons of the last decade. I felt late to the party when I started playing it a few years ago and it was an obscure PC/Mac game. Now my nieces and nephews play it on their iPod Touches and iPads and it’s making Notch Scrooge McDuck money. And just think, in a couple years WB will release a Minecraft movie and it will explode even more.

Threadless Launches Minecraft Collection, Takes All My Money

Threadless Minecraft Collection

Threadless is killing it lately with their partnered collections. Last year they had The Muppets and Adventure Time, and lately they’ve had Sesame Street, Disney Villains, and now Minecraft. They really need to consult with me before launching any awesome new shirt lines so I can increase my Threadless budget first.

I don’t like every one the Minecraft designs, but a few are awesome and are definitely on my Christmas wishlist. I particularly like Bad Weather, but who doesn’t love pixel art on their t-shirts?

Now if only they would get a Gravity Falls or TMNT challenge going, I’d have even less money.

LEGO Minecraft Set Review

LEGO Minecraft

When the Internets first got glimpse of the LEGO Minecraft Set on the company’s Kickstarter-esque site Cuusoo, I doubt a lot of people thought it would ever become a real product. It surprised me when LEGO announced on the CUUSOO blog that it passed their approval process and would be a really-for-real set in a few months time. It’s been for sale for a short while and I got my hands on one, dumped all the pieces on my desk, and built it so I could let you know if it’s a great LEGO set or just a decoration for hardcore Minecraft fans.

What You Get

The LEGO Minecraft Set (or Minecraft 21102 officially) is a micro-world set, meaning it’s not minifigure scale. It does, however, include a couple micro-figures in the likeness of Minecraft’s Steve and a Creeper. Since the whole point of Minecraft is shaping and building terrain out of the available blocks in the game, the LEGO Minecraft set works the same way.

New Footage From Next Year’s ‘SimCity’ Game Proves Way Too Addictive

Posted 8 years ago by Games

There’s a reason I never got into the popular world-building game Minecraft. It’s not because I didn’t want to. It’s because I’m afraid of what it would do to me. You see, back in the early ’90s, I was pretty well obsessed with playing SimCity. The ability to simultaneously play God and city planner was an overwhelming combination.

I played SimCity, SimCity 2000, SimTown, SimAnt—pretty much every Sim variant up until The Sims. That’s when I realized I had a problem. That’s when I knew I had to quit cold turkey.

I stumbled across this video showing gameplay of the all-new SimCity scheduled for release in 2013. Watching it gave me that same high I experienced way back when, plus then some. They’ve taken the already great game and put it on steroids. Not only is the design better than ever but your world can now coexist with others in a sort of, multiplayer sim world.

It looks like I’ll be falling off the wagon come next year. I better saving up on sleep now.

Official Minecraft LEGO Set Revealed

LEGO Minecraft

Well, that happened a lot faster than I thought it would. After Minecraft became the first LEGO Cuusoo set to get 10,000 supporters, passed the initial review, and was announced as an upcoming really-for-real set, I thought it could take months before we ever got a glimpse.

Luckily we’ve already got a press release and promo images, and even better, the set comes out this summer! It’ll run you $35 and it’s mini-scale, but includes a little Steve and Creeper. I think it looks great, and I can see a lot of people buying this when it’s available. Hell, I’m a casual I’ve played Minecraft a few times kind of guy, but I’ll probably pick this up.

What do you think?
