It’s now December, and even though I’ve been in full-on Christmas spirit for a couple weeks now, I feel like I can finally start proving it on the site. For some reason we’re getting a lot of our Christmas shopping done early this year, and that means I’ve been looking at a lot of toys. Unfortunately, I haven’t been looking at toys for myself, but at least I have an excuse to be in the toy aisle for a few weeks without getting weird looks.

Just yesterday I was picking up a couple toys for my nieces and nephews* at Target and I inevitebly wandered into the Star Wars section. There on the bottom shelf was a product I knew was designed just for me; a Galactic Heroes AT-AT.

Disney’s Pook-a-Looz Bring the Cuteness

I got an email from Disney Living about a new product, and the name immediately had me reaching for the delete button, but when I googled Disney’s new Pook-a-Looz plush toys, I was overwhelmed with cuteness.

The Pook-a-Looz are quirky, handmade-looking plush toys based on Disney, Pixar, and Muppet characters. They’re supposed to be fairly cheap, thus fodder for collectors. TMNT BATSU Figurines from NECA Bring the Cuteness

TMNT BATSU

Get ready for more TMNT related awesomeness out of NECA, makers of the why-don’t-I-own-you-yet action figures. Next month they are releasing limited edition TMNT BATSU urban vinyl figurines.

I haven’t quite hopped on the cute urban toy bandwagon yet, but these may be a great place to start. Each figure comes with it’s signature weapon and even has some articulation. Dibs!

Thanks to Space Monkey X for the tip.

Marvel Super Hero Squad Mania with Twitter Contest!

Hasbro’s cutesy action figures. You know you love them, you know you want them all over your desk, mingling across franchises like the characters have known each other since they were cute little babies with giant hands. You love seeing Optimus Prime battling that big, bald, Nazi Mechanic guy from Indiana Jones while Cobra Commander and Chewbacca wait for round two. There’s just something about the little buggers.

They may have started with Star Wars, but one of my favorite lines is the Marvel Super Hero Squad. They’ve been around for a while, but they’re about to burst into every nook and cranny of kids culture this year with the release of a series on Cartoon Network and even an upcoming MMO.
