The Muppets/Ocean’s 11 Smashup

You have to love a smashup that is done really well, and this one ranks right up there with the Toy Story/Dark Knight in terms of originality.

Thanks to the modern wonder that is Twitter, today I was introduced to an awesome artist named Alex Deligiannis. He works on The Fairly Odd Parents, creates comics, and is a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. He has a blog called Stay Tooned, and today he posted his version of the classic TMNT character Rocksteady.
He was gracious enough to let me post it here, but be sure to check out his sites and follow Alex on Twitter. I don’t know about you, but I’d love to see his interpretations of Krang’s Android Body and Ace Duck.
Now lets all join together and convince him to open an Etsy shop to sell us prints!
Doctor Octoroc, a 8-bit art and music enthusiast, has put together a cool 3D bead sprite tutorial for building your very own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon. This would be pretty cool sitting on my desk, but I’m too lazy to actually try making it.
Dr. O really takes the 8-bit bead sprite artform to a new level, make sure to check out some of his other creations.
I swear that I’ve always said there should be a Death Star Beach Ball (DSBB). Well, now there is, and I’m not going to make a dime from it. I’m not terribly disappointed though, because I can still buy it and hang it from the ceiling in my office to ward off intruders.
They’re also coming out with some sweet pool toys and, to quote Bones from Monster House, awesome kites. Hurry up summer, I can’t wait to get made fun of at the park.
Nothing says easter like Reese Eggs. I usually try to hork down 3 or 4 packages every season, and last night my wife and I found something awesome on a routine snack run. A giant Reese Egg. It was practically calling our names from its display. We grabbed one and hit the check out.
We decided to be somewhat reasonable and split one instead of each getting one and being dead today. I let her do the honors. It looked like a pretty standard Reese Egg, just jumbo size.
It does taste a little different, just because the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is different. I think the regular-type Reese Eggs have the perfect ratio going, this one had to have a lot thicker chocolate. All in all, it was a good snack, don’t know if it was worth the $3 plus we paid for it, but hey, Easter candy only comes around once a year.
