About that Leaked TMNT Script…

Michael Bay's TMNT

When I got a Google+ notification the other day from Rob saying the troubled script for Michael Bay’s upcoming TMNT reboot had leaked, I knew I had to read it out of sheer morbid curiosity. Bay is just producing the movie, but his presence within a mile of my beloved Turtles is enough to turn me into a big, green, nostalgic rage monster.

For some reason, I had been staying optimistic about the movie, even when details leaked about the Turtles being aliens. In my head, I was willing to let their origin story change (slightly) if it meant getting a movie that had Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, and the Technodrome in it. I kind of want that to happen really bad.

So, I sat down with my wife’s iPad and a 119-page PDF of the script not knowing what to expect, and within two minutes I knew that if this script gets made it would be cinematic suicide for the Turtles franchise. It is literally the worst thing ever, you guys. Literally.

That Awkward Moment When You Enter a Fantasy Football League and Realize You Don’t Know Anything About Football

Fantasy Football

Yeah, so thanks to Brian at Cool and Collected, this is happening. I’m notoriously apathetic about sports. I’ve thrown Anti-Super Bowl parties and consistently make fun of how my city cares more about football than anything else, but what the hell. Maybe my lack of knowledge will help me in some way.

Don’t get me wrong, as a kid I loved the NFL, picked my favorite teams based on colors and logos, and played a lot of football video games, so at least I have that. My plan is to let Yahoo pick my team automatically because I’d fall asleep before I finished drafting players. Beyond that, I intend to use video games to help me pick winners for games, assuming that’s even part of the whole thing. I really don’t know.

Brian made an amazing trophy, and I’d like to think I have a chance at winning it. I’d like to think that, but I don’t. Oh well, I’m ready for some foosball!

Cool Stuff: Christopher Lee’s Ghostbusters Poster

Christopher Lee's Ghostbusters Poster

Christopher Lee, the talented artist behind the TMNT Action Figure Art I posted on the site last year as well as these great Star Wars posters, has just released a Ghostbusters poster and it is just as awesome as his other work.

I’m a huge fan of Christopher’s work. Ghostbusters was the perfect franchise for him to tackle next, and he knocked it out of the park. His ability to lay these out, keep them in his style, but still have that movie poster look is insane. I could rattle off a huge list of movies I’d love to see posters for in his style.

This poster is a very limited edition of 100, and you can order it from his shop. Also, make sure to check out the post on his blog if you’d like to see his early sketches and ideas.

Shirt of the Day: Vote Rogers & Stark 2012

2012 Rogers Stark

Geeky shirts are everywhere these days. I don’t post as many on the site as I used to, but every once in a while I can’t resist. That’s definitely the case with this political-inspired shirt over at Redbubble. I’m sure a lot more people my age would get behind an election if the two running mates were Avengers.

I’ve never bought anything from Redbubble (mainly because the prices seem so high) so I can’t vouch for quality, but this shirt is pretty awesome and I may pick it up.
