Watch This: Marvin the Martian in the Third Dimension

Posted 10 years ago by Animated Shorts

Check out the trailer for a rare, never-released-on-home-video animated Looney Tunes short called Marvin the Martian in the Third Dimension. According to Cartoon Brew, the short was made to be shown in the WB Studio Stores (which I was loved) and at a theme park in Australia. It was an early attempt at emulating 2D animation with CGI. I’d love to see the whole thing.

If I’m ever a guest at your house, I expect these in the bathroom or else I’m not showering.

Batman Arkham Asylum Action Figures Series 1

Posted 10 years ago by Toys

I’m a little late on this one, but DC will be releasing the first wave of action figures based on the hugely successful game Batman Arkham Asylum in January of 2011. Batman looks a little more blue than I remember him looking from the game, but they’re still a long way out so that could change.

The wave will include Batman, Joker with Scarface, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow. Here’s to hoping they include Killer Croc in wave 2.

I’ll probably pick up the Batman and Joker figures, what about you?

The Wonderful Twitter Avatars of Joey Ellis

One of my favorite things about Twitter is how it is a great place to discover artists. Over the years I’ve been tweeting either I’ve stumbled across artists with similar interests or they’ve found me somehow. One in particular is Joey Ellis, and if you follow him you’re most likely familiar with his awesome Twitter avatars.

His trademark is an awesome avatar of a character you’re familiar with wearing Mickey ears. Here are some of my favorites.

You can find the whole collection in this huge Flickr set.
