Big news today out of the Licensing Expo. Disney has officially announced that Pete Docter’s next film will indeed be a sequel to Monsters Inc! They announced the film under secrecy, but I guess you just can’t trust anyone these days, because word got out immediately. I’m pretty happy about this because a) Monsters Inc. is one of my favorite Pixar films b) Pete Docter just proved he is improving with each picture with his masterpiece Up.

Most likely this will come out in 2012 or 2013, but I can’t wait!

I saw Up last night at Midnight, and my mind is still reeling. I’m a huge Pixar Fanboy and have been ever since I saw Toy Story as a ten year old. Their dedication to story is incredible, and their films are all wonderful.

I’ll try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible. I’ll assume you’ve seen the previews.

I can never decide on a favorite Pixar film because they’re each so perfect in their own ways, but Monsters Inc. definitely has a certain charm that I always want to go back and see again. Thats why my wife and I were super excited to see Up, Pete Docter’s follow up to Monsters Inc.

I love Jurassic Park. It is my favorite movie of all time, and it’s popularity spawned a lot of dinosaur hysteria in the 90s. I’ve wanted to express my love of 90s dinosaur nostalgia for a long time now. At first I was going to list the best dinosaur movies from the 90s, but quickly realized it would only be two movies long, maybe three. Follow That Bird was Sesame Street’s first (and best) movie, and to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary, Warner Bros has released a special edition DVD. I upgraded from the previous version, and since I’ve written about the movie in the early days, this is mainly going to be a short review of the new DVD.
