Tron Legacy Review

Tron Legacy Logo

Tron was one of those movies I would occasionally rent from the local Library as a kid of about 7 or 8 years old. At the time I viewed it (the early 90s) the 1982 movie already seemed dated, but it had a special charm and an interesting cast of characters including Kevin Flynn played by the “Dude” himself actor Jeff Bridges. It also presented some interesting concepts centering around artificial intelligence and how computers (and humans) connect to each other. Now, almost 30 years later we have the sequel Tron Legacy. How does the sequel compare with the original? Does it improve on what made the original still loved as a cult classic to this day?

Missing Links for Dec. 6th, 2010

Posted 10 years ago by Missing Links

The Tophat Sasquatch team reads a lot of blog posts every day, and some slip through the crack or just don’t warrant their own post. That’s where Missing Links comes in. Every few days we collect the best links we’ve come across and pass them on to you.

Dr. Seuss’ Star Wars
This is pretty awesome. Star Wars if it was written and illustrated by Dr. Seuss.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Story Revealed? Is it ‘Prey’ with Dr. Hugo Strange?
I haven’t read Prey, and I’m not sure this would be the best way to end the trilogy, but I’m sure Nolan knows best.

A is for Ackbar
Brandon Peat illustrates the alphabet with Star Wars characters, and has actually made them into nice-looking books.

TRON: Legacy – Low Rez Trailer
In the vein of Sweded trailers ala Be Kind Rewind, the guys at Gamervision have created a low-rez version of the Tron Legacy trailer, in 3D no less. Impressive.

The Wonderful Twitter Avatars of Joey Ellis

Posted 10 years ago by Art

One of my favorite things about Twitter is how it is a great place to discover artists. Over the years I’ve been tweeting either I’ve stumbled across artists with similar interests or they’ve found me somehow. One in particular is Joey Ellis, and if you follow him you’re most likely familiar with his awesome Twitter avatars.

His trademark is an awesome avatar of a character you’re familiar with wearing Mickey ears. Here are some of my favorites.

You can find the whole collection in this huge Flickr set.
