From Tommy: Introducing ‘When You Hear This Sound‘ – a new podcast by Rob Lammle that I’m really excited about. It’s all about the retro Read-Along Records that often featured characters and stories from pop culture. Here’s the official podcast description:

Just in time for the new movie, Man of Steel, the first official episode of When You Hear This sound is going to drop the needle on 1982’s The Man From Krypton, a retelling of Superman’s origin story from Peter Pan Records.

I’m sure you’ve seen this a million times already, but just watch it one more time. Zach Synder usually makes movies I have little interest in watching, but I’ll be damned if Man of Steel doesn’t look pretty awesome. I can’t believe there isn’t a single shot of slow motion in the whole trailer.

It kind of sucks that we’ll have to sit through another origin story, but if it’s done as well as Batman Begins it won’t be that bad. Also, I’m way more excited than I should be about Richard Schiff being in this movie.

So, let’s discuss. What did you think?

No, I’m not talking about the (hopefully) awesome actual-movie that comes out in 2014, I’m talking about a direct-to-Blu-ray movie in the same vein as the LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace thing that was way better than it needed to be.

I didn’t recognize many voice actors but Clancy Brown was definitely Lex Luthor, which makes me happy. This comes out in early 2013 and I can’t wait.

Seeing Superman be a dick in LEGO form sounds fun.
