Ah, the joys of being a TMNT fan. There’s always an obscure cringe-worthy video that you’ve long forgotten to dig up on YouTube. This is definitely the case with We Wish You a Turtle Christmas.

I’m sure I’ve seen this before, but when my friend John sent this to me today I think my heart grew three sizes from sheer joy. The TV special is about the Turtles’ quest to find a gift for Splinter, singing horribly written Christmas song spoofs along the way.
We Wish You a Turtle Christmas has everything you want in an embarrassing piece of TMNT nostalgia. The costumes are horrible, the voice acting is inconsistent with every other incarnation, and the humor revolves around pizza.

The shining moment comes in the form of an original song, “Wrap Rap.”
Why are there a bunch of kids in the Sewer lair? Wouldn’t that totally compromise their whole undercover operation?
If only one of these horrible live action television specials had attempted to recreate Bebop, Rocksteady, or Krang, I could die happy.
