Disney Christmas Carol Train FAIL

In anticipation of Robert Zemeckis’ latest motion capture extravaganza, Disney has been touring the country with a special Christmas Carol train to raise awareness of the film and to block city streets for days at a time.
I’m not particularly excited about the film, because I usually hate motion capture, but when something like this rolls into town, I can’t pass it up. The tour includes glimpses at models, concept art, busts, and of course, a healthy dose of motion capture propaganda. They also set up an impressive outdoor, inflatable Disney Digital 3D theater to show off clips from the film.
So why was this a FAIL? The stop closest to us was planned for yesterday, in a small town about 40 minutes south of Indianapolis called Bargersville. We headed down there and met some friends, and arrived in the town square, ready to see the sights. We noticed the line for the inflato-theater was short, so we got in that first. We were then informed that you had to go through the train first, and get a ticket to be able to see the clips.
We hopped over to the end of the line that was formed by the train. We couldn’t really tell how long it was, but there were a lot of people. A staff member was talking to a lady in front of us, and told her that from the end of the line, it was a five hour wait to get on the train. This was at 6:45pm. Needless to say, we decided to go eat some Mexican food instead.
It would have been cool to see it, take some pictures, and report back here, but instead you get this. On the bright side, I did see a sign for what is perhaps the greatest business idea ever. Behold.
