In anticipation of the Horrible Night Out at the IMAX in Indianapolis tonight, I broke out my Tron Mickey Mouse vinyl figure from Sideshow Collectibles and snapped some photos. I have mixed feelings about vinyl collectibles. If they were cheaper I’d probably own a lot more, and in the case of Tron Mickey Mouse, I wish he lit up. Sideshow sent this to me a while back and I wanted to hold off until Tron Legacy was out to publish anything.
There’s not much to review with vinyl figures, so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
Sidenote: It’s a testament to Tron Guy’s viral popularity that when I look at this it makes me think of Tron Guy Mickey Mouse more than Tron Mickey Mouse.

When our good blogging friend Weirdo Toys suggests someone to follow on Twitter, we listen. That’s how I found out about Toypedia, an awesome blog all about odd little minifigures. The photos are very well done and the toys are often completely random and interesting. As someone with a new camera and no clue how to use it properly, I could learn a few lessons.
Be sure to also check out Toypedia’s Flickr stream, and if you ever happen to find any of the crazy minifigures featured on the site, please put them in a tiny box and send them to me immediately.

Now Yoshi can finally get his revenge on thatĀ ItalianĀ bastard for riding him all of these years!
Seriously though, this Yoshi Mech from Kodykoala looks amazingly detailed, just look at the rust texture, bolts and a little map likely displaying GPS coordinates where Mario sleeps.
Revenge is at hand …

It’s now December, and even though I’ve been in full-on Christmas spirit for a couple weeks now, I feel like I can finally start proving it on the site. For some reason we’re getting a lot of our Christmas shopping done early this year, and that means I’ve been looking at a lot of toys. Unfortunately, I haven’t been looking at toys for myself, but at least I have an excuse to be in the toy aisle for a few weeks without getting weird looks.
Just yesterday I was picking up a couple toys for my nieces and nephews* at Target and I inevitebly wandered into the Star Wars section. There on the bottom shelf was a product I knew was designed just for me; a Galactic Heroes AT-AT.

All good geeks need awesome desk toys, and there really aren’t that many that compare with how awesome Buckyballs are. In case you’ve never seen them, Buckyballs are little Rare Earth magnets that can be made into a bzillion shapes. Each set comes with 216 magnets, and will probably keep you from getting a lot of work done, but that’s what desk toys are for right?
