Batman Arkham Asylum Action Figures Series 1

Posted 10 years ago by Toys

I’m a little late on this one, but DC will be releasing the first wave of action figures based on the hugely successful game Batman Arkham Asylum in January of 2011. Batman looks a little more blue than I remember him looking from the game, but they’re still a long way out so that could change.

The wave will include Batman, Joker with Scarface, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow. Here’s to hoping they include Killer Croc in wave 2.

I’ll probably pick up the Batman and Joker figures, what about you?

New A-Team Movie Toys Revealed

Posted 10 years ago by Movies, Toys

I don’t get too excited about retro TV shows getting the big Hollywood reboot these days, but these new toys from the A-Team movie are looking pretty incredible. They’re coming out with 3.75″ and 12″ action figures, but I think most people are going to be interested in the awesome van pictured above. It’s been a while since I’ve bought any toys from a new movie, but I could totally see myself getting the van and the A-Team to go on a shelf in the office.

What do you think?

LEGO Minifigures Wave 2 Preview

Posted 10 years ago by Toys

As if I didn’t already have plans to knock of a few banks in order to fund my upcoming LEGO Minfigures obsession, they had to go and release photos of the second series. In case you don’t know about them, it’s LEGO’s first foray into the world of blind-boxed minifigs. The first series includes ninjas, zombies, luchadores, and more.

Wave 1 doesn’t even come out until June, and I’m probably going to have to buy a few cases just to get enough LEGO Zombies to satisfy me. Now I’m going to have to buy even more to make sure I get enough LEGO Dracualas, mariachi dudes, and Spartans.

I also thought it was pretty nice of them to include the chiseled, blonde surfer guy, which is obviously me in minifigure form.

The Least Awesome Flea Market in the World

If you follow me on Twitter @SaturdayMorning (and you really should), you may have seen that last weekend I was pretty excited about a trip I was taking with my Mom. A few months ago we were on our way south and passed this building on the interstate, and I knew that someday I would go. I had visions of mile-long tables filled with 80s action figures, retro video games, and miscellaneous junk. The Most Awesome Flea Market in the World? How could this not be good?

As it turns out, the meaning of awesome varies a great deal depending on if you are a redneck or not.

Disney’s Pook-a-Looz Bring the Cuteness

Posted 10 years ago by Toys

I got an email from Disney Living about a new product, and the name immediately had me reaching for the delete button, but when I googled Disney’s new Pook-a-Looz plush toys, I was overwhelmed with cuteness.

The Pook-a-Looz are quirky, handmade-looking plush toys based on Disney, Pixar, and Muppet characters. They’re supposed to be fairly cheap, thus fodder for collectors. The Buzz and Woody are kind of fantastic and I’ll probably pick those up for the office. The official promotional video is a little odd, but then again so are the toys.
