The Pirates of Darkwater on DVD

Posted 10 years ago by Television

I don’t know how, but I completely missed out on The Pirates of Darkwater when I was a kid. It aired on Fox Kids in the prime of my cartoon-watching days, when I was about six years old. I thought Pirates were pretty cool, but still, I totally missed this one.

Luckily, thanks to WB and their Warner Archive, I now have the entire series on DVD.

As it turns out, I would have loved this show as a kid. It was a cartoon about pirates, but it doesn’t take place on Earth. It featured the voices of Jodi Benson, Jim Cummings (yes!), Peter Cullen, Tim Curry, and a lot of Frank Welker.

This show is pretty cool and I found myself getting into it; imagining I was 7 years old and watching it for the first time.

Thanks to WB, all 21 episodes are available on 4 discs. Keep in mind that since this is a WB Archive title, the episodes are presented with a generic WB menu. The set itself is still retail quality.

Own it on DVD, only from the Warner Archive!
