Book Review: World War Z – The Art of the Film

If you look at my writing resume here on Top Hat Sasquatch, you’ll find quite a few Art of… books from Titan Publishing.  While Titan does an excellent job producing these titles, they have generally followed a fairly standard format: foreward by someone famous, the designs of the main characters, then the supporting characters, the sets and props, and then it wraps up with some technical jargon on special effects, with the occasional paragraph of text from the director, the stars, the set designer, the producers, and lead animators scattered throughout.  It’s a bit by-the-book, but the format works.

ParaNorman Review: A New Halloween Classic

I love Coraline. I’ve always been a huge stop-motion nerd, but Coraline got me really excited about the medium again, and I’ve been waiting and waiting for Laika’s second movie to hit theaters. ParaNorman looked amazing from the first teaser, but could the new studio pull off another awesome animated film without Henry Selick’s directing or Neil Gaiman’s story?

Rezatron’s Zombie Drawings and Doodles

Niche illustration blogs seem to be a huge upcoming trend, and that’s fine with me. I’m jealous of anyone that can draw cool stuff, just ask my friend John. We’ve had the cool artwork of Springfield Punx, Montygog’s Art-O-Rama, and the Autumn Society.

Now we have the delightful zombie drawings of Rezatron. Along with random zombies, he has included some awesome pop culture icons given the undead treatment. Among those included are Home and Bart Simpson, Kermit the Frog, Michael Jordan, Kanye West, Spongebob, Harry Potter, and Marty McFly.
