LEGO TMNT Sets Available on December 17th

Kraang Lab Escape

Well, it looks like Christmas is coming early this year. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle LEGO sets we’ve been drooling over for the past few months are going to be available on LEGO’s Shop@Home site starting on December 17th. That doesn’t leave much time to get them to your door before Christmas, but LEGO’s fastest (and expensive) shipping option might do the trick.

I’ve got some nephews who would be insanely pumped if they got some of the TMNT LEGO sets I’ve been telling them about in time for the holidays. I don’t blame them, so would I!

The pages are already up on LEGO’s site. Here are links, along with prices and which Turtles come in each set.

I plan on getting all of these sets, but if you’re just looking to snag the four Turtles, it looks like your cheapest bet is go get the Turtle Lair Attack, Shredder’s Dragon Bike, and Kraang Lab Escape sets for a total of about $88.

So, are you planning on getting any of these sets?

The Top Hat Sasquatch team reads a lot of blog posts every day, and some slip through the crack or just don’t warrant their own post. That’s where Missing Links comes in. Every few days we collect the best links we’ve come across and pass them on to you.

The Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang: McDonalds Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys
Well folks, Turtle mania is in full swing now because there will be Happy Meal toys next month. You geeks with kids have it easy, how am I going to justify buying Happy Meals for a month straight?

2013 Lego Galaxy Squad pictures | The Brothers Brick
Wow, I hadn't even heard of this new line. I like the colors and the minifigs a lot. Space and LEGO is always a great combination.

Bandit Guns: Rubber Band Shotgun by Bob Coulston — Kickstarter
A very cool Kickstarter for an amazing rubber band shotgun. If I had anything other than pets to terrorize with this, I'd get one for sure.

Judd Apatow’s ‘The Simpsons’ Episode Script Being Produced, Twenty Years Later | /Film
I'm not the biggest Apatow fan, but you have to admit, this is cool.

Boot The Foot: Awesome TMNT Illustrations

Boot The Foot

Tim pointed out this awesome new Tumblr to me the other day and I knew I had to post it. Artists Skummie and BeastPop teamed up in Voltron fashion to form SkummBeast, and they created the site Boot The Foot to show off their re-imaginings of TMNT characters, along with those of their friends. So far they’ve tackled Slash, Krang’s Android Body, and a Triceraton, and they’re all pretty great.

It’s pretty obvious I’m a bit obsessed with TMNT fan art, and I’m going to look forward to seeing more characters on Boot The Foot. Bring on Ace Duck!

Playmates Announces TMNT Toys for 2013!

2013 TMNT Toys

I don’t use exclamation marks in headlines very often, but come on, new TMNT toys! We’ve already gotten a look at the TMNT LEGO sets for next year, but so far there’s been no news about Playmates’ new toys. With the new show and toys blowing up the way they are, we all new more toys had to be coming. Our friends at The Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang spotted these new photos over at Toy News International, and it looks like we’re going to have plenty to spend our money on next year.

I knew we weren’t going to be able to avoid the crazy Turtle variant figures for long, and it looks like they’re coming already with what fans are dubbing The Ghostbuster Turtles. It’ll be Sports Turtles, Clowns, and Hip Hop Turtles before we know it. The bad thing is, I don’t really mind.

There are some new vehicles and playsets coming too, and there’s even a mention of Playmates’ Classic line getting a series two, which is awesome news! I love that Baxter Stockman, I just wish he could be about 11 inches tall and be the Krang’s Android Body of this new line.

Head on over to The Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang for some more pictures!

I love this LEGO TMNT poster and how it's going for the 1990 movie poster aesthetic.

Yes please.

Bret McKenzie Will Return for the Next Muppet Movie « ToughPigs
Great news. Bret McKenzie was one of the best things The Muppets had and I'm glad to see he'll back for round two.

This is super interesting. These little Etsy characters are adorable and would totally work in films, and kudos to Bad Robot for discovering that.
