Odin is Ready for his Close-Up

On the heels of SDCC 2010, we’re already getting a lot of sneak peeks at the geeky goodness that will be flaunted at this year’s convention. Marvel’s upcoming Thor movie by Kenneth Branagh is one I’m very interested in. Not because I’m a huge Thor aficionado, but because I’m curious as to how they will pull it off and make it look like a part of the modern Marvel movie universe. I’ve been pretty impressed with the glimpses we’ve had of Thor so far, and now we get our first look at Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

I like the direction they’re taking with these costumes, and I can’t wait to see the sets and production design that will accompany them.

Hasbro’s SDCC 2010 Exclusives

Posted 10 years ago by Toys

If you’re lucky enough to be able to attend SDCC this year, here is a heads up on some of Hasbro’s exclusive toys. I don’t know what I’d do with myself at an event that huge, but I’m sure I would want to spend way more money than I would have. Hell, I’d go just to get this Super Hero Squad Show exclusive featuring the mayor of Superhero City and Dr. Doom in his jammies.

These black-light posters were made in the 1970s by Third Eye Inc. from blown-up comic book panels. They’re pretty awesome. Thanks to Nick Derington for posting these.

Chris Hemsworth Looks like Thor

Posted 10 years ago by Movies

There’s something about the idea of a Thor movie that is starting to interest me. Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t know much about Thor, and don’t see how they’ll make him fit into the realistic movie universe they are crafting with the Iron Man movies.

The first pic of Chris Hemsworth as Thor was released today, and I kinda dig it. I’d love to see some hammer and/or helmet action, but this will do for now. I guess we’ll find out in 2011 how Captain Kirk’s daddy does as the god of thunder.

What do you think?
