When You Hear This Sound

From Tommy: Introducing ‘When You Hear This Sound‘ – a new podcast by Rob Lammle that I’m really excited about. It’s all about the retro Read-Along Records that often featured characters and stories from pop culture. Here’s the official podcast description:

When You Hear This Sound will take you back to a pre-VHS era of home entertainment as your host Rob Lammle digs into his personal collection of read along record books and stories on vinyl. With thrilling adventures adapted from blockbuster movies, hit TV shows, hilarious cartoons, and iconic comic book superheroes, the show will be retro fun for everyone.

Let’s get going with the first episode!

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…well, you know who it is. Just in time for the new movie, Man of Steel, the first official episode of When You Hear This sound is going to drop the needle on 1982’s The Man From Krypton, a retelling of Superman’s origin story from Peter Pan Records.

Damn, Now I Have to Watch a Zach Synder Movie

Posted 8 years ago by Movies

I’m sure you’ve seen this a million times already, but just watch it one more time. Zach Synder usually makes movies I have little interest in watching, but I’ll be damned if Man of Steel doesn’t look pretty awesome. I can’t believe there isn’t a single shot of slow motion in the whole trailer.

It kind of sucks that we’ll have to sit through another origin story, but if it’s done as well as Batman Begins it won’t be that bad. Also, I’m way more excited than I should be about Richard Schiff being in this movie.

So, let’s discuss. What did you think?

Wait, There’s a LEGO Batman Movie?

Posted 8 years ago by Movies

No, I’m not talking about the (hopefully) awesome actual-movie that comes out in 2014, I’m talking about a direct-to-Blu-ray movie in the same vein as the LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace thing that was way better than it needed to be.

I didn’t recognize many voice actors but Clancy Brown was definitely Lex Luthor, which makes me happy. This comes out in early 2013 and I can’t wait.

Seeing Superman be a dick in LEGO form sounds fun.

Super Cute Superhero Art Prints on Etsy

It’s too bad these are reserved for someone, but check out these super cute superhero art prints from Etsy artist Loopzart. Anything with Batman and The Hulk smiling is OK in my book.

She also has a Star Wars set (also reserved) that are equally worth checking out, as well as lots of individual prints.
