Nick Stoller Says the Muppet People Are Working on a New TV Show
It kills me that Muppets Most Wanted tanked at the box office. I loved it, but I think it just didn’t stand a chance going up against Divergent or whatever it’s called. I hope Stoller is right about Disney working on a new TV show, I’d hate for Disney to abandon the Muppets.

‘Power Rangers’ Getting a Reboot Feature Film by Lionsgate
This doesn’t surprise me, and actually it’s not the most far-fetched thing to reboot. It’s basically superheroes, giant robots, and Kaiju. If they leave out the goofier aspects (or embrace them) from the show, it could make a decent movie.

Charlton Heston being photographed by an ape on the set of Planet of the Apes
Great photo.

This guy collected 75,000 McDonald’s items over 50 years
I can’t imagine having the dedication to collect only one thing, let alone the money, time, and space it would take to have as large of a collection as this guy. His house looks like a McDonald’s museum. Crazy.

Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Baxter Stockman Fly Version Figure
I’m not sure what to think about this. In face, I’m almost losing the will to keep up with the Nick figures. There are some cool ones out that I don’t have, it’s just time and money consuming to hunt them all down, and I’ve got too much junk as it is. What do you guys think about the new Baxter Stockman?

So I Guess VHS Nostalgia is a Thing Now

VHS Nostalgia

I was wandering through my local Goodwill yesterday and after finding a sweet toy from my childhood I ventured into the VHS section. Now it’s important to note that I don’t have a CRT TV or a VCR and haven’t for like six years. But, I’ve been wanting to get a little TV/VCR combo to put in my office so I can play old-school video games and watch random VHS tapes, so me getting all nostalgic isn’t totally unwarranted.

Anyway, I’m standing at this wall of VHS tapes reading the ends of the boxes upside down and trying to spot anything good, and I realize that I’m going to bring home a stack of VHS tapes that I’ll only be able to look at. I started to put them back, but my moment of sanity was sadly temporary.

Cool Stuff: Power Rangers Animated Shorts by Mike McCraw

Posted 8 years ago by Animated Shorts

Hey Disney, want to bring back the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and make them cool again? Hire Mike McCraw to turn his short, animated concepts into a new cartoon series and call me when they’re done.

Mike has animated the Black, Blue, and Pink Rangers so far and each one is full of action and pretty awesome. Next I’d love to see him tackle animated a huge Megazord doing battle with some over-the-top monster character.

Check out the other two after the jump.

10 Things That Look Better Than The Amazing Spider-man’s Lizard

Posted 8 years ago by Movies

The Lizard

I liked The Amazing Spider-man. I really did. I liked almost everything about it, with one glaring exception: the design of The Lizard. I was so excited when they announced that The Lizard would be the villain in this movie, but when the designs started to leak, I was a little bummed. When I finally saw the movie, I liked the character but the snoutless, generic Lizard design didn’t do much for me. So, to avoid actually working today I’ve been making a list of 10 things that look better than The Lizard.

As with most ‘silly lists’ on Top Hat Sasquatch, this is mainly a joke. Keep that in mind before you rage in the comments section.

Goombas!

The Goombas from the Super Mario Bros Movie

The Goombas from the Super Mario Bros movie were the first things I thought of when I saw The Lizard. Bald, scaly, and a big toothy grin. Exactly what The Lizard could have looked like in a 90s Spider-man movie, had they decided to ditch the snout and make it look ridiculous. I don’t know if a snout would have made The Lizard look that much better, but what is so unrealistic about growing a snout vs. growing a tail?

Cool Stuff: Dave Rapoza’s Red Ranger Print

Red Ranger

If you’re a geek and use the Internet much you probably remember seeing Dave Rapoza’s awesome TMNT prints a while back. Dave specializes in punching your nostalgia in the face with his ultra-realistic style and his latest target is the Red Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He’s teamed up with ACME to release this print at SDCC and on ACME’s website sometime soon. I don’t think a Power Ranger has ever looked so badass.

You can check out Dave’s website and the Red Ranger print page on ACME’s website, and stay tuned for an announcement on when they’ll be available online, if you’re lame like me and won’t be attending SDCC.
