Johnny Storm is Casey Jones is Captain America

Posted 10 years ago by Movies

I haven’t posted anything about the Captain America casting frenzy because it seemed like everyday the shortlist changed. SlashFilm is reporting that Marvel has officially hired Chris Evans to play the star-spangled Avenger in a 9 movie deal.

Evans of course played Johnny Storm in the not-so-awesome Fantastic Four movies, as well as Casey Jones in the CGI TMNT movie. Fox is hanging onto that license with a kung-fu grip for as long as they can (think reboot), so I don’t think that will interfere with Marvels red, white, and blue plans for him, but we’ll see.

I’m pretty exited about a period Captain America movie, so we’ll see how well they pull it off.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the horrible thumbnail image features the awesome Captain America Hoodie from 80sTees.com.

Disney/Marvel Rumblings: New Avengers Cartoon & Ant-Man Movie?

Posted 10 years ago by Movies, Television

There hasn’t been a whole lot of news from the Disney/Marvel acquisition front yet, until now. Some enterprising fanboys discovered that one of Disney’s recent domain name purchases was ANT-MAN-THE-MOVIE.COM. We already knew that Disney has to keep their hands off the Marvel film franchises already in development with other studios, so they’re obviously frantically flipping through the pages looking for undeveloped characters.

Lets just hope that they stick with the Edgar Wright version of Ant-Man.

Captain America Movie (1990) Now on Hulu

Posted 10 years ago by Movies

It seems like Hulu gets all the movies I rented constantly as a kid in the 90s. One of their newest additions is the guilty-pleasure Captain America movie from 1990. I loved this as a kid, even though I knew it was horrible.

If nothing else, it will get you pumped up that they’re finally making a real Captain America movie soon.

Check out the details on IMDB, and thanks to SlashFilm for the tip. Oh, and Happy New Year!

X-MEN Volumes 3 and 4 DVD Review

X-Men

If there’s one cartoon from my childhood that I had been dying to go back to, but never got around to it, it is definitely X-Men. To me, X-Men was an after-school staple in the 90s. I loved the animation style and the action, as well as the 2-4 part series’ that frequented the show. The series ran from 1992 to 1997, and aired on Fox Kids, and later was syndicated on the Disney XD.

Back in April, Volumes 1 and 2 of X-Men were released on DVD, and last week Disney followed up with Volume 3 and Volume 4.

Hitler is Pissed About Disney Buying Marvel

Posted 11 years ago by Videos

Upon hearing of the Disney/Marvel deal, I had to join the club of people who create versions of “Hitler is Pissed…” Warning: There is some language in the subtitles, so viewer discretion is advised.

Note: I am actually pumped about Disney buying Marvel, I just had to do this, it was too much fun making fun of the Disney haters!
