Star Wars VII Cast

After months and months (and months) of speculation, some really for real news has finally come out about Star Wars Episode VII: Take All My Money (working title). Lucasfilm/Disney just announced the cast, and it’s looking pretty great. First off, let me get this out of my system:

Wookiee Tuxedo Episode 1 – Crazy Ewok Lady

Posted 7 years ago by Podcast

Happy Star Wars Day! There haven’t been a lot of podcasts around here for a while, but that’s going to change! Not only will Bubble Pipe Theater and Saturday Morning Central be starting back up soon, we’re also starting a brand new podcast dedicated to Star Wars called Wookiee Tuxedo. With Disney buying Lucasfilm and new movies in the works, there won’t be a shortage of things to talk about any time soon.

In the first episode, Tim and I talk about the future of Star Wars, Ewoks, Muppets, and why Wookiees don’t wear pants.

Let’s Talk About J.J. Abrams Directing Star Wars Episode VII

J.J. Abrams

Ok, there’s no point in making this post sound like any kind of news story or announcement, because you’ve heard it already (not to mention I’m a day late). J.J. Abrams is directing the new Star Wars movie, which is the biggest news related to Episode VII we’ve had and just the tip of the iceberg of what we’ll be getting over the next couple years.

I’m going to save my in-depth opinion for something Tim and I will be unveiling soon, but I will say this: I think J.J. Abrams is a very talented dude, and I can trust him with a Star Wars movie. He’s practically been proteged by Steven Spielberg and although he has some gimmicks (insert lens flare joke here), he is a big enough Star Wars fan that I think he will treat this movie as the most important thing he’ll ever do, and try to do it right.

The Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang: Lego Magazine TMNT Ad
I love this LEGO TMNT poster and how it's going for the 1990 movie poster aesthetic.

First Look: Tom Hanks as Walt Disney in ‘Saving Mr. Banks’
Yes please.

Bret McKenzie Will Return for the Next Muppet Movie « ToughPigs
Great news. Bret McKenzie was one of the best things The Muppets had and I'm glad to see he'll back for round two.

This is super interesting. These little Etsy characters are adorable and would totally work in films, and kudos to Bad Robot for discovering that.

New ‘Super 8’ Trailer Brings Amblin Back

Posted 9 years ago by Movies

Even though this film will be lost on the the average Johnny-loves-Transformers this summer movie season, Super 8 looks like it’s on track to be the best genre film of the year. The J.J. Abrams directed, Spielberg influenced and produced movie appears to channel the classic 80’s Amblin movies we all grew up with.

If so, that means we can expect a great character-driven story taking place in Everytown, USA, and most importantly, children casually swearing, which I think we can all agree has been lacking in the cinema of late.

This trailer is showing before Battle: Los Angeles tonight (which I hope is good), and I can’t wait to see it on a big screen.
