DuckTales

DuckTales will always be one of the things I am most nostalgic for, along with classic Nintendo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It just always reminds me of my childhood and I love getting my hands on anything DuckTales related. I was looking around online for obscure bits of DuckTales history yesterday and found this cool promotional folder that was used to get Disney licensees pumped about their new animated TV show.

Disney is Making a Live Action/CG ‘Rescue Rangers’ Movie. Wait, What?

Posted 6 years ago by Movies

Rescue Rangers

I haven’t seen the Smurfs or Chipmunk movies because they look like horrible abominations and I feel like I have to sit through a trailer for one every other time I go to the movies. But, they seem to make a shitton of money and it looks like Disney wants to get a piece of that pie by using one of the most beloved cartoons from my childhood, Chip n Dale’s Rescue Rangers. I feel conflicted.

Pros

  • Rescue Rangers getting popular again means it’s more likely for shows like Ducktales and Gummi Bears to make comebacks
  • It could be really fun if done by people who loved the show
  • The theme song is bitchin

Cons

  • It will probably suck
  • The director is very inexperienced
  • It’s live action/cg hybrid
  • The theme song will probably be covered by some horrible band

Seriously, why live action/CG? Rescue Rangers would look awesome as a straight CG movie. The Rescue Rangers didn’t get involved with humans much anyway, it was mostly other animals. Oh well, maybe it won’t be the worst thing ever.

Cool Stuff from Cool and Collected: PVC Figures

Cool Stuff from Cool and Collected

One of my favorite sites in the blogosphere is Cool & Collected, a pop culture site run by Brian Adams. A couple weeks ago, Brian starting posting some excess toys he was wanting to get rid of (something I should probably do) and one of his posts caught my eye. I love action figures as much as the next geek, but something I’ve never really blogged about that I have a major addiction to is PVC figures. When one of Brian’s posts contained a bunch of them, I snatched them up.

I swear guys, I didn’t even know I was collecting these things. I just realized that I have a ton of them from when I was younger, and some of them have been played with more than my old action figures. They were usually made by Applause or Schleich, and based on the figures I have, were sold at Disney theme parks a lot. I have a lot of Mickey, Donald, Figment, and various Disney characters in tiny PVC form.
