LEGO Review: Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown

Wolverine on his Bike

After months of talking and talking about the prospect of Marvel LEGO sets, they’re finally here. The first sets officially come out on April 8th, but I was lucky enough to snag a couple on Walmart.com a week or so ago before they were quickly sold out. I got two of the cheaper sets, 6865: Captain America’s Avenging Cycle and the set I’m reviewing today, 6866: Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown.

The Lowdown

In addition to all the awesome Avengers LEGO sets coming out, LEGO is starting a X-Men line with the release of this Wolverine set, and honestly, it’s going to be a hard set to top. At $20, the value for LEGO/Marvel geeks is insane. Not only do you get a pretty awesome-looking helicopter, but you get almost perfect minifigure versions of Wolverine, Magneto, and…Deadpool. Are you kidding me? Deadpool exists in LEGO form, and was one of the first Marvel characters to be released?

Marvel Superhero Plushies Bring the Cuteness

Marvel Plush

HULK CUDDLE! We here at Top Hat Sasquatch aren’t afraid to embrace our inner cuteness, and we appreciate it when our geek toys and collectibles aren’t either. That seems to be the case with these Marvel Comics Plushies from Funko, and I want them all.

Plushie Hulk and Thor are my favorites, at least until they get around to making Plushie Deadpool and Plushie Punisher. What about you? Name the Marvel character you think would make the best/weirdest Plushie in the comments.

Hasbro’s cutesy action figures. You know you love them, you know you want them all over your desk, mingling across franchises like the characters have known each other since they were cute little babies with giant hands. You love seeing Optimus Prime battling that big, bald, Nazi Mechanic guy from Indiana Jones while Cobra Commander and Chewbacca wait for round two. There’s just something about the little buggers.

They may have started with Star Wars, but one of my favorite lines is the Marvel Super Hero Squad. They’ve been around for a while, but they’re about to burst into every nook and cranny of kids culture this year with the release of a series on Cartoon Network and even an upcoming MMO.
