The New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Get a Trailer

And it looks interesting. Not as bad as I thought it would, but I’m still on the fence. The Turtles are huge. The CG doesn’t look horrible, but still, this will probably be terrible. I’m bummed we didn’t get a shot of Shredder suited up or of Splinter.

IDW Announces “Turtles in Time” Comic Mini-Series
I am way behind on the IDW TMNT series thanks to my iPad mini’s screen cracking (anyone know a good way to get that fixed?), but this Turtles in Time miniseries sounds amazing and I would actually buy physical copies to read it. Inspired by the SNES game? Sign me up.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Trailer
I still don’t know what to think about the X-Men cinematic universe. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 14 years since the original came out. That movie basically got the ball rolling on the entire modern Superhero film genre. I never would have thought that 14 years later, some of the cast would still be playing those characters.

Reddit User tysmurph Paints Stills from Disney Movies
I saw these get posted over the last few days and I really hope it gets turned into a series. First up was a still from The Sword and the Stone, and then the other day one from 101 Dalmatians was posted.

Minecraft developer Mojang’s profits more than doubled in 2013
Minecraft is one of the most interesting gaming phenomenons of the last decade. I felt late to the party when I started playing it a few years ago and it was an obscure PC/Mac game. Now my nieces and nephews play it on their iPod Touches and iPads and it’s making Notch Scrooge McDuck money. And just think, in a couple years WB will release a Minecraft movie and it will explode even more.

Review: ‘Stripped’ is the Comics Doc We’ve Been Waiting For

Stripped Movie Review

Everyone loves comic strips. And that’s probably a good thing because they permeate much of our popular culture. Whether you read them in the daily newspaper, as a web comic, or see them shared on Facebook, comic strips are hard to avoid.

I love comics and have since an early age. I remember laughing hysterically at collections of Garfield comics in elementary school. This fascination with comic strips and cartooning has stayed with me my entire life. When a film documentary on the subject hit Kickstarter, I jumped at the chance to become involved. I plunked down 20 bucks and waited.

Fast forward exactly a year and the Stripped movie was placed into my hands. Well, placed in my digital inbox to be exact.

You’re CG, Charlie Brown!

I won’t judge until I see the final product, but it looks like Blue Sky nailed it. I didn’t expect CG Peanuts to look this cool. With the Schulzs and Paul Feig involved, I think this will be pretty awesome. The movie doesn’t come out until November though, so we’ve got a while until we find out.

Comic Review: Snowpiercer Volume 2

Posted 10 years ago by Comics

I was genuinely surprised by the ending to the first volume of Snowpiercer.  What seemed like a fairly typical post-apocalyptic tale wound up on a note that I didn’t see coming at all.  So when the second volume of the comic was recently released by Titan Books, I scooped it up so I could find out what happened next.

Unfortunately, the second volume doesn’t continue the same storyline.  Instead, Volume 2 picks up with a different hero on Snowpiercer 2, a completely different train.   Wait, what?  You’re saying there are two never-stopping, socially stratified trains that harbor the last remnants of humanity to keep them from dying in the harsh arctic environment?  What’re the chances?
