Halo Encyclopedia Review

Halo Encyclopedia

If you’re a fan of DK Publishing’s books (like the ones I’ve already reviewed) and you’re a gamer, then you’re going to love the Halo Encyclopedia.

I’m a big Halo fan, but I’ve never read any of the books or comics. I had no idea how fleshed out the Halo universe was until I read through this massive book. It’s around 350 pages, and it’s jam packed with information on characters, species, weapons, vehicles, and history.

The book starts with an introduction by Halo guru/Master Chief creator Frank O’Conner, as well as introductions to all the major aspects of the Halo universe. From there the book is broken up into sections, much like other DK books.

The Chapters

I really can’t stress how insanely detailed this book is. To give you a better idea of how the book is laid out, here is a video from DK.

I’ve recently gotten back into Halo in a big way ever since ODST came out (BlueAwesome on Xbox Live), and this book has definitely satisfied my thirst for more things Halo. With this, Halo Legends, ODST, and the recent release of Halo Waypoint, it’s a good time to be a Halo fan.

This looks fun! I love all of the various “complete” and “encyclopedia” geek-related books that hit the market and sometimes buy books for characters or settings I don’t have much interest in. This one looks like a good grab and something I should add to my Christmas list.

This review just makes me want it even more. We do a secret Santa with my family every year, and this crowned my list.

I also do some video game reviews and stuff, so you can check out eggplante.com for that! I’m still not quite sure what to think about ODST, but you’ll find all my thoughts there! And I’ll be sure to post a review of this too! Thanks!
