Giveaway: 8-Bit Retro NES Toploader

September 24th, 2009 by

To help celebrate Saturday Morning Central’s new design, I’m giving away one Retro Entertainment System NES Toploader. All you have to do is leave a comment, and say what your favorite NES game is, and I will pick one winner randomly! Make sure to use a valid email address, because that’s how I will contact you.

The Retro Entertainment System will play your old NES cartridges, because sometimes having your retro games in physical form is still cooler than using emulators.

The contest ends on October 1st at 5:00pm EST.

What are you waiting for?

Contest is closed.

Congratulations to Sand! You were selected randomly to win the NES Toploader!

My favorite is Mario Bros. 2 – I know it gets a lot of flack as the Phantom Menace of the Mario series, but it is truly a fun game with a lot of good memories.

Oh man…Bionic Commando!!! Don’t even hafta think about that one. Master D/Hitler’s head exploding has to be one of the greatest game endings ever!!!

I was always a nerd for Section Z to be honest.

BTW, I like the new design. I’m really digging the switch in feel from a more bloggy layout to a more news-ish kind of feel.

I also like that you ditched the image of the building blocks at the bottom (they felt a bit too Babies-R-Us.)

I’m with Naked Bob on this one…Bionic Commando all the way. Jumping is overrated.

I would have to say my favorite NES game was the original Ninja Gaiden. It was incredible. But probably the very best game for the NES in terms of playability is Super Mario 3.

I was always a little partial to RC Pro Am. It was the original drifting game.

Being a motoXer, I also gotta give it up for Excite Bike.

But, for pure mindless fun, who doesn’t like to burn through Super Marion Bros. every once in awhile.

The new site looks great, Tommy!

I have a soft spot for Double Dragon 2, especially the fight on the helicopter, but my true love remains Bionic Commando – my first experience of console gaming. How on earth I ever had the patience to play the frustrating bloody thing, especially as a child, I’ll never know.
