Giveaway: 8-Bit Retro NES Toploader

Posted 10 years ago by Games

To help celebrate Saturday Morning Central’s new design, I’m giving away one Retro Entertainment System NES Toploader. All you have to do is leave a comment, and say what your favorite NES game is, and I will pick one winner randomly! Make sure to use a valid email address, because that’s how I will contact you.

The Retro Entertainment System will play your old NES cartridges, because sometimes having your retro games in physical form is still cooler than using emulators.

The contest ends on October 1st at 5:00pm EST.

What are you waiting for?

Contest is closed.

Congratulations to Sand! You were selected randomly to win the NES Toploader!

  • Bob

I like it, brite fresh and fun, good work!

  • Richy

Contra and super Mario bros 3, all time favorites

  • Greg

I’m partial to Duck Tales. So much fun bouncing around on that cane!

  • My favorite is Mario Bros. 2 – I know it gets a lot of flack as the Phantom Menace of the Mario series, but it is truly a fun game with a lot of good memories.

  • cat

Zanac will always be my fave NES!

  • Oh man…Bionic Commando!!! Don’t even hafta think about that one. Master D/Hitler’s head exploding has to be one of the greatest game endings ever!!!

    Love,
    Naked BoB

  • I was always a nerd for Section Z to be honest.

BTW, I like the new design. I’m really digging the switch in feel from a more bloggy layout to a more news-ish kind of feel.

I also like that you ditched the image of the building blocks at the bottom (they felt a bit too Babies-R-Us.)

  • I’m with Naked Bob on this one…Bionic Commando all the way. Jumping is overrated.

  • Nik

Legend of Zelda is my favorite. Gold cart was awe inspiring.

  • I like the new look! Congrats!

I’d have to say my favorite NES game was Bionic Commando. What an original concept.

  • SJ

Mega Man 2 🙂 Still one of my all time favorite games.

  • Site is looking great. And no game beats Legend Of Zelda! No game, I say! 🙂

  • Ryan

I would have to say my favorite NES game was the original Ninja Gaiden. It was incredible. But probably the very best game for the NES in terms of playability is Super Mario 3.

  • Carol

I didn’t cook or clean for two days and beat THE LEGEBD OF ZELDA when I first got married!

  • Joshy

My favorite was probably TMNT: The Arcade Game. I loved playing that with my friends and cousins.

  • I was always a little partial to RC Pro Am. It was the original drifting game.

Being a motoXer, I also gotta give it up for Excite Bike.

But, for pure mindless fun, who doesn’t like to burn through Super Marion Bros. every once in awhile.

  • Well if we are going retro, i have to give props to Usagi and his friends, The Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles-TMNT…

  • Adrienne Gordon

    Metroid or Zanac

  • Daniel K

I can’t believe I am the first to say Bubble Bobble

  • I loved P.O.W. and Super Mario Bros. 3!!!

  • Gosh, there are so many: Super Mario Bros. 3, Tetris, Mega Man 2, Donkey Kong, Blades of Steel, Tecmo Super Bowl, etc. In an effort to be different, though, I’m going to say Marble Madness.

  • Wow! Free Nintendo!!

My favorite game from back in the day was probably “Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out.”

  • Ben

I really like Magic of Scheherazade.

  • My favorite was definitely Tecmo Bowl, followed by Super Marios Bros. 3. Other worthy mentions are World Cup Soccer, Excite Bike, and the 7up game.

  • Miranda Allen

    Duck Hunt!!!

  • Yalborap

My favorite would have to be…Wow, hard choice, but Mega Man 2’s held up a lot better for me than a lot of NES games, even classics of the era.

  • Mike C

  • I used to think it was Super Marios Bros 3, or Legend of Zelda, but time after time I find myself playing the same game over and over again. So my favorite NES game is…..
    CastleVania II!

MC Kids was my absolute favorite!

  • The new site looks great, Tommy!

I have a soft spot for Double Dragon 2, especially the fight on the helicopter, but my true love remains Bionic Commando – my first experience of console gaming. How on earth I ever had the patience to play the frustrating bloody thing, especially as a child, I’ll never know.
