[Contest] Win Christopher Lee’s Amazing New TMNT Poster!

Christopher Lee TMNT Poster

Do you want a chance to win this awesome new poster by artist, toy collector, and friend of the site Christopher Lee? The ink has barely dried on his latest masterpiece but he’s letting me give three posters away to coincide with an interview I’ll be running later this week. Read on for details on the contest; this will be a special one for you TMNT fans!

If you follow Chris on Instagram (and you should), you’ve been lucky enough to see him post these TMNT characters over the last few months. Every day I would open it up waiting to see what action figures he had tackled next, and now it’s finished. From Chris:

200 hours later, this print is ready for press! Every single TMNT figure up through 1991 (withholding the strange and wacky Turtle variants) is represented in this poster.

It’s not drawn in my normal style (which was part of the challenge I suppose). All of these characters are inspired by their action figure counterparts, right down to the lavender pants on Casey Jones ๐Ÿ™‚

The poster is 27″ by 39″ and has the classic design of a retro TMNT card back, complete with Pizza Points! If you were a fan of he TMNT toys growing up this poster will be a nostalgic gold mine, and if you’d like a chance to win one here’s what you have to do.

Contest Details

Since Chris’ poster celebrates the TMNT toys, this will be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Photo Contest! The contest will be open for one week, ending on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:00pm EST.

All you have to do is take a photo of your Ninja Turtle toy collection and submit it in the comments on this post using Disqus’ built-in photo uploading feature by the deadline and you’ll be entered to win.

Chris and I will pick three winners not based on the size or impressiveness of your collection, but based on the creativity/aesthetic quality/awesomeness of the photo you enter.

You could have two action figures and win because your photo tickles our fancy more than someone with a super rare Scratch MOC or fifty foot soldiers. Recreate the last supper, photograph your toys in a weird location, or anything else.

We’ll pick our three favorite photos and the winners will receive a free poster, plus some retro TMNT trading cards and some Top Hat Sasquatch swag. I’ll also post a gallery of all the photo entries I get after the contest is over.

Good luck, and check back very soon for a cool interview with Chris about his work, his insane toy collection, and more!

Important Update: – I forgot to mention this, but when you enter, make sure you comment using a real email address or we won’t be able to contact you if you win!

Update #2 – The winners should be posted on Monday, October 29th!

  • That print is pretty epic! Reminds me of the Star Wars cardback print by Christoper Tupa: http://ctupa.com/store/?p=634

Think I’ll be brainstorming some fun Turtles pics soon…

Starting in from top to bottom, and left to right:
    1990 TMNT movie poster.
Unfortunately not an original, but I still love it.
    Pixel Mikey
    A gift from a friend
Mirage Studios TMNT Collection Vol. 1 Graphic Novel
Probably the most rare thing I have in my collection. Containing issues 1-25 and one-shot stories in between, only a few of these were printed and are worth over one hundred dollars each.
TMNT the 1987 animated series Season 1 DVD
My original 1990 TMNT movie on VHS.
I loved that movie so much that while the box is nearly perfect, the movie itself has several spots where I have worn it out from watching too much.
(My favorite piece of my Collection) Michelangelo Window Cling.
Originally made to sit inside your car window (you may have seen Garfield widow clings as well for frame of reference) This one was purchased by my mother who cut the suction cups off and gave it to me as a gift for my third birthday. He has been my best friend ever since.
Some unused TMNT birthday cards that a friend of mine found and gave to me.
    The TMNT Turtles Forever DVD
If you have yet to see this movie, stop looking at this and go find it. NOW. Such wonderful nostalgic bliss.
    TMNT Blu-Ray Box Set
I used to have all the DVDs but when this came out I bought it and gave the DVDs to my nieces and nephew.
    Raphael Beer Cozi
A gift from my sister-in-law for my last birthday.
80-piece extra large puzzle for toddlers
A gift given to me from my friend who owns a comic book store for my wedding last year.
    Nickelodeon TMNT Raphael Action Figure
    Nickelodeon TMNT Leonardo Action Figure
    Nickelodeon TMNT Michelangelo Action Figure
    Nickelodeon TMNT Donatello Action Figure
    Mirage Studio Raphael Action Figure
    Mirage Studio Leonardo Action Figure
2008 Remake of the 1987 Michelangelo Action Figure
I used to have the real one, along with a truck load of others, but they, along with some of my Archie Comics, have gone the way of mom’s spring cleaning.

    • Awesome! I’ve wanted a TMNT movie poster for a long time and I finally scored one on ebay. That poster is so classic.

      • iateallthecrayons

Yeah I bought the poster a few years ago on EBay myself for a dollar. It clearly isn’t an original, but its still awesome!

  • The Surfing Pizza

You know I had to enter this one. Here’s my entry. The Turtles and Shredder have finally teamed up to defeat the one true evil that everyone can agree on: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III.

    • Very cool, although TMNT III is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Great contest. I don’t have a submission, though I wish I did! I want to get my hands on that poster!

Here’s my submission: “Late to the Party”

I guess there’s always next year, guys.

    • Hah that’s awesome!

    • Morgan

Holy cow, you really have all the figures in the poster.

      • Even ‘Basketball Giraffe’ and ‘Fireman Dog’ as I like to call them!

  • Jamie Painter

    Hey guys!
I realize this is only HALF of the famous Turtles in a Half-Shell but I’m currently working on Leo and Raph. I’ve begun customizing toys and these two are all I have to show for it as of now. I used the 1992 Movie Star Turtles – did a repaint as well as dark wash, hand made both leather belts (Mikey even has a holster for his extra pair of Nunchuks on his back), hand made both sets of weapons, dual Nunchuks for Mike and a B? Staff for Don.

Nunchuks are made with real wood, hemp cord and chain links.
B? Staff is made of real wood and leather wrapped in the center.

    peace friends!!
    – Jamie

This is my version of “Abbey Road” using my favorite Ninja Turtle toys. I like them because they’re different than any typical action figure- they’re like big teddy bears…er….turtles.

    • iateallthecrayons

These are awesome, it’s funny they look just like the window cling versions only without the suction cups. I still have my Mikey from when I was three, but you can clearly tell he was well loved.

  • BubbaShelby

    Keepin it simple…

  • Hoping you see the creativity in the location of the collection…I’m standing in my kitchen…

Not sure the location can get any weirder than that ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • D-Nizzy

The picture just wouldn’t post for some reason.
I also @’ed you on the instagram (SORRY again, >.< ).

  • Here’s my submission! Inspired from the Turtles usually having their backs to each other and facing off against the foot. Photoshopped the background in. My old toon ones are banged up from going to war with me when I was 5 ๐Ÿ™‚
